When we came into the world, you held us in your
arms ;
we thanked you by wailing like a banshee.
When we were 1 year old,
you fed us and bathed us;
we thanked you by crying all night long.
When
we were 2 years old, you taught us to walk;
we thanked you by running away
when you called.
When we were 3 years old, you made all your meals with
love;
we thanked her by tossing our plates on the floor.
When we were 4
years old, you gave you some crayons;
we thanked you by coloring the walls.
When we were 5 years old, you dressed us for the holidays,
we thanked you
by dirtying our clothes.
When we were 6 years old,you walked us to school.
we thanked you by screaming, "I AM NOT GOING!"
When we were 7 years old,
you bought you a ball.

When we were 8 years old, you handed us an ice cream.
we thanked her by
dripping it all over your lap.
When we were 9 years old, you paid for guitar
lessons.
we thanked you by never even bothering to practice.
When we
were 10 years old in the sixth grade,
whilst you taught other sixth graders
all day,
we thanked you by not getting as good good grades.
When we were
11 years old, you took us shopping ;
we thanked you by grumbling all the
way.
When we were 12 years old, you warned us not to read certain
books;
we thanked your by waiting until you left the house.
Those teenage years
When we were 13, you suggested a haircut that was
becoming.
we thanked you by telling you she had no taste.
When we were
14, and you sent us on holidays /trips
we thanked you by forgetting to bring
back any mementos.
When we were 15, you came home from work, looking for a
hug.
we thanked you by pretending we did not know you were home .
When
we were 16, you trusted us to go to college .
we thanked you by cutting
classes any chance we could.
When we were were 17 , you suggested certain
advice for our future.
We thanked you by saying, "I don't want to be like
you."
When we were 18, you cried at our college graduation.
We thanked
her by staying out partying all evening.
When we were 19, you paid for our
college tuition,
we just took it for granted and still haven’t thanked you.
Growing old and gray
When we were 20, you asked whether we were seeing
anyone.
we thanked her by saying, "It's none of your business."
When you
were 27 you helped to pay for our wedding,
and you cried and told us how
deeply you loved us;.
we thanked you by moving halfway across the
country/world
When we were 30, you gave some advice on the baby;
we
thanked you by telling you, "Things are different now."
When we were 40, you
reminded us of an relative's birthday,
we thanked you by saying we are really
busy right now
and do not know if we really ought to do it.
NOW
When we where we are we still need you,
we call
only whenever we want to,
we still do not thank you the way we
should,
for still taking care of yourself and help us get thru all our
problems.
We embarrassed you in front of your friends all thru in many many
ways
whilst we were young and probably still are embarrassing you in certain
ways,
but you never showed then,
and now too,
you never burden us with
any of your problems.
We love you mum and hope we learn to thank you for all
you have done and are still doing for us.
